Dr O’s Tropical Hydration Drink Recipe!

I keep a half gallon jug with me at all times, drinking from it all day long, at work, at home, and it makes up half of what I drink in a day. I get asked all the time by my patients, “what’s in there?” And I tell them, “oh, that’s my ‘juice,'” which isn’t really juice, but it tastes that way! Then I tell them how to make it. I’ll usually scribble it on paper, or type it up in their plan. Well, today, I’m putting it online by popular request!

Materials to make 1/2 gallon:

Method:

  1. Unwrap and put your 3 tea bags into the glass measuring cup.
  2. Boil your water and pour it into the cup with the tea bags.
  3. Brew tea for 15 mins.
  4. In the meantime, pour the apple cider vinegar into the jug first, then the stevia and Potassium Cocktail.
  5. Swirl the jug mixture to get it mostly mixed up.
  6. Once your tea is ready, squeeze out the tea bags into your tea when you remove them, so you don’t waste a drop!
  7. Pour the still-hot tea into the juice jug and swirl to mix.
  8. Fill the jug up the rest of the way with filtered water and the amount of ice you want. I usually put about 2 cups of ice in mine.
  9. Secure the lid TIGHTLY and shake it like Shakira!
  10. Enjoy throughout the day!

Notes;

  1. Please don’t drink all of this at once, even if you can because of the high potassium content!
  2. You can substitute whatever you want. This is just how I make MINE.
  3. To me this tastes like a tropical, sweet-tart, semi-floral, punchy, refreshing drink!
  4. The hibiscus in Passion Tea is great for cardiovascular health!
  5. Electrolytes are essential for anyone doing a low carb, ketogenic, or carnivore diet because we lose a lot of salts from the low insulin, which can create new problems.
  6. Have fun and let me know what you think!
